Homemade Sugar Scrub Facial

Simply THE BEST facial scrub ever! The honey and brown sugar scrub is the bomb. I’ve been using this homemade scrub for a couple of years and prefer it over anything store bought. I have dry skin (even more so in the winter) and this scrub blasts away all that dryness and dead skin thats just hanging around on your face. So simple… literally just raw organic honey and brown sugar and a drop or two of water. Your skin will look and feel like you spent tons of your hard earned money at a fancy pants spa. Why pay for something you can easily whip together yourself in little time and cost only cents to make?

Skin that is regularly exfoliated is healthier skin, both in appearance and function. The honey contains natural enzymes that act as an antiseptic to clean out your pores while the sugar exfoliates your pores and skin. The antimicrobial agent in the honey helps fight acne by slowly releasing natural hydrogen peroxide. The sugar cintains high mineral content that contributes to moisturizing your skin.

1/4 cup organic brown sugar
2 tbsp raw organic honey
1 tsp unrefined coconut oil (optional)

In a platic bowl (one with a lid so you can refrigerate any leftover) mix together the two ingriendent with few drops of water or organic coconut oil. Leave on your face for 10-15 minutes. I usually do my hair conditioning treatment at the same time. Don’t expect to be doing chores at the same time though. It will start to slide off your face so take a few minutes out, lay your head back with a towel around your neck and RELAX! When it is time to wash it off, splash a little water on your face and gently make circular motions for about a minute then rinse off remaining scrub. Your face will feel AMAZING! Allow your skin to balance and breath a bit before putting applying moistrizer.

Other variations:
There are several variations with some calling for olive oil, vitamin E and so on. I’ve only tried the vitamin E capsule and although I’m sure it can’t hurt adding vitamins to your skin, I didn’t notice a difference.  So there you have it. Now get to glowing beautiful people:)
